MashaAllah, this was beneficial.

I think some were of the belief that saying ‘make du’aa for me’ is not of the correct etiquette, because we should ourselves be turning to Allah ta’ala and asking Him our needs, and this is better than asking of others.

But mashaAllah, it’s beneficial how the Shaykh clarified this action based upon our intentions: if we do it seeking benefit for the one we ask as well as ourselves, then we are following the example of the Prophet, salAllahu alayhi wa sallam; however if we do it only seeking the benefit for ourselves, then we are not following the example of the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam.

I see. I absolutely agree and support the statement “When infact a visa, that is a pact in Islam, is given to them that with the trust that they would not harm anyone in the land they are entering”. If a ‘muslim’ harm anyone without any good reason…then he/she is not a muslim…at least…big question mark to his/her belief, imho.

Walaikum salaam

The above mentioned warning is to those who enter the lands of nonmuslims and then create havocs and destroy and cause destruction in the name of Islam. When infact a visa, that is a pact in Islam, is given to them that with the trust that they would not harm anyone in the land they are entering. But some of the khawarijees and other deviant groups they betray the trust of nonmuslims. This is to warn the khawaarijees and other deviant group who indulge in harming innocent muslims as well as nonmuslilms that none of these actions of theirs are islamic and Islam forbids those actions. As those actions oppose the teachings of Islam. As the nonmuslims grant them safety and trust them but they in turn betray this trust which leads to mistrust of other muslims living in those lands. However islamically we are obliged not to betray the trust of muslims as well as nonmuslims. The shiekh was clarifying how treacherous are the people who betray the trust of muslims as well as nonmuslim because of their deviated understanding and cause more fitnah and destruction. I hope this clarifies the context.
