Messengership of Muhammad sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam

Messengership of Muhammad sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam

A Witness,

Bearer of Glad Tidings, and a Warner

“Muhammad(sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) is not the father of any man among you, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Last of the Prophets, And Allah is Ever All-Aware of Everything.”

(The Glorious Qur’an: Surah 33:40
“And (remember) when Jesus, son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of God unto you, confirming the Torah (which came) before me, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad (i.e. Muhammad). But when he came to them with clear proofs, they said: “This is plain magic.”

(Qur’an 61:6)

“We have not sent thee (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) except as a universal (Messenger) to men giving them glad tidings of Paradise and warning them (against sin and the Hell fire) but most men understand not.”

(The Glorious Qur’an 34:28)

In the Name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

Allah says in the Qur’an: (References of the Qur’an are an English interpretation of the Arabic) “Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings and as a warner. In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and that you glorify (Allah’s) Praises morning and afternoon. (The Noble Qur’an 48:8-9)

In a time when the earth was filled with chaos and confusion and man had once again strayed from the Guidance of Allah, a child was born from the line of the house of Ishmael in the city of Makhah as ordained by Allah. His grandfather named him Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) son of Abdullah.

From childhood there was always something special about him that was recognized by all. He was always honest true and trustworthy. Born in the year 570 AD, the only child of his parents, he later became an orphan at the age of six years after the death of both parents.

Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was in his youth, a combination of the best social attributes. His (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) long silence helped him (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) to meditate and deeply investigate the truth. His pure nature was helpful and instrumental in assimilating and comprehending ways of life and people, individual and collective. He shunned superstitious practices and took a part in constructive and useful dealings, fornication, music, He also kept himself from drinking wine, eating meat slaughtered on stone altars, or attending idolatrous festivals.

To possess a spotless character. He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was the most obliging to his compatriots, honest in his (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) talk and mildest in temper. He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was gentle-hearted, chaste, hospitable and always impressed people by his (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) piety inspiring countenance. He (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) was always truthful and the best to keep covenant. His (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) fellow citizens by common consent gave him the title of Al Ameen (trustworthy). 40 years

Allah says in the Glorious Qur’an:

“Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much.” (Qur’an 33:21)

Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) used to pass long hours in retirement meditating and speculating over all aspects of creation around him, sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam. One of these in particular was his  sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam favorite resort – a cave named Hira’, in the Mount An Nour; where at the age of 40 years he  sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam was visited by the angel Gabriel, who was sent to reveal Allah’s Guidance for all creation to him.

The angel Gabriel is the same as appeared to Jesus, appeared to him Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) and said:

“Read! In the Name of your Lord, Who has created all that exists has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood.) Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous.” (Qur’an 96:1-3)

Thus began the revelations and Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) received words of inspiration, of warning and glad tidings for all creation with the same Revelation as was sent to the former Prophets.

Allah says in the Glorious Qur’an:

“Verily, We have inspired you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) as We inspired Noah and the Prophets after him; We (also) inspired Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, and Al-Asbat, (the twelve sons of Jacob), Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the Psalms. And Messengers We have mentioned to you before, and Messengers We have not mentioned to you, and to Moses, Allah spoke directly. Messengers as bearers of good news as well as warning in order that mankind should have no plea against Allah after the Messengers. And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. But Allah bears witness to that which He has sent down (the Qur’an) unto you (O Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) , He has sent it down with His Knowledge, and the angels bear witness. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a Witness. Verily, those who disbelieve (by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) and his (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) message of true Islamic Monotheism written with them in the Torah [Book given to Moses] and the Gospel) and prevent (mankind) from the Path of Allah, they have certainly strayed far away. Verily, those who disbelieve and did wrong (by concealing the truth about Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) and his (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) message of true Islamic Monotheism written with them in the Torah and the Gospel) Allah will not forgive them, nor will He guide them to any way, Except the way of Hell, to dwell therein forever, and this is ever easy for Allah. O mankind! Verily, there has come to you the Messenger (Muhammad) with the truth from your Lord, so believe in him, it is better for you. But if you disbelieve, then certainly to Allah belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. And Allah is Ever All-Knowing, All Wise. O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah anything but the truth. The Messiah Jesus, son of Mary, was (no more than) a Messenger of Allah and His Word, (“Be’’ and he was) which He bestowed on Mary and a spirit created by Him; so believe in Allah and His Messengers. Say not: “Three (trinity)!” Cease! (it is) better for you. For Allah is the only One God, Glory be to Him, (Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belong all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a Disposer of affairs.” (Qur’an 4:163-172)

“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad(sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) explaining to you much of that which you used to hide from the Scripture and passing over much. Indeed, there has come to you from Allah a light (Prophet Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) and a plain Book (this Qur’an). Wherewith Allah guides all those who seek His Good Pleasure to ways of peace, and He brings them out of darkness by His Will unto light and guides them to a Straight Way…. O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Now has come to you Our Messenger (Muhammad (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) making things clear unto you, after a break in (the series of) Messengers, lest you say: “There came unto us no bringer of glad tidings and no warner”. But now has come unto you a bringer of glad tidings a warner. And Allah is Able to do all things.” (Qur’an 5:15-19)

O you who believe [in Moses (Jews) and Jesus (Christians)]! Fear Allah, and believe too in His Messenger (Muhammad(sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam)) , He will give you a double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall walk straight, and He will forgive you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (Qur’an 57:28-29)
